Time Off
Thank you everyone for your love for the Peak2Soon blog, but I've gotta step it down for a little while.
I apologise everyone I had intended to write a blog this week, but the last couple of hours have been like an absolute punch in the guts.
Sometimes you feel like the universe is with you and everything is going swimmingly, then other times everything goes against you and this has been one of those afternoons.
Having lived in an apartment for the last three years, I’ve used the space directly opposite our apartment as a short stay carpark, and a few others have done the same.
The streets of Gungahlin are littered with cars every single day, but it seems after looking at my letterbox, this is no longer acceptable. Three parking fines in the space of six weeks, it feels unAustralian when there are far bigger issues going on in this city.
My crime? Parking on the verge/footpath. Something that I and many others in the units have done for three years and beyond, and while everything is happening with the cost of living this just felt like a classic revenue raiser.
It’s a shame, but I also feel like my energy with the blog hasn’t been there in recent weeks given my new job that is far more demanding than my previous role, and starting a new podcast, which is where I’d like to place my energy going forward.
This has been reflected in readership dropping, so I’ve decided to take a break off writing with my next blog being my race report of my 12-hour race.
When I’m a bit scrambled like this afternoon it can be really hard to write, so I’m just taking the time to say I appreciate you all, but this week I won’t be producing anything in written form.
I did want to drop a note and say congratulations to all my friends who completed Six Foot Track and gave it a crack, and the amazing results from my friends who completed the Australian Alpine Ascent.
I might produce something next week as I dive further into the track, I had an amazing session today getting an insight into my 12-hour in a couple of weekends. But I just don’t have the energy while I’m upset to go into it right now.
Hope to see you out on the trails soon.
Keep your chin up matey, a speed hump in life's road.
Do what you got to do. Good luck with the race!
