Loved reading this Brent. What an epic! What i love about trail running is no race is ever the same even if you've done a similar distance or terrain. Congratulation's on digging in and finishing. I've just added the Archie to my race bucket list.
Thank you so much Charley, and I agree we have one of the toughest sports in the world in terms of trying to judge it. No two races are ever the same, I'd highly recommend the Archie, just an incredible race, really well thought out course to challenge even the best.
Have been eagerly awaiting this post Brent! What a great read and man, what a race experience!! You should be incredibly proud Bubba Cheds! Sounds so special and really makes me want to add to my ever growing list of races. Congratulations on conquering the Archie! Hope the cork heals up ok.
Thank you!! Throw it in the list, mine continues to grow haha, coming to the realisation they can't happen each year lol. Cork is surprisingly good today, learnt an old technique from a Chinese Acupuncturist to get as much deep heat in as possible early and don't let the blood pool. Hopeful of a slow jog tomorrow :D
A great read on an absolutely stunning event. Nic and I did this last year after friends had a crack at it in 2021 and their stories and images were so beautiful we couldn’t resist. It was also my 50th birthday - so the challenge was 50 on my 50th (and I agree it just happens to be one of the hardest 50’s you’ll do). I think we are similar athletes given we had close finishing times, so I feel we got to know that climb out of the valley better than most 😂. Great work on the podcasts and hopefully we get to say gday to you sometime soon around Canberra! Great work Brent!
I love this idea. The run the amount of kilometres for your birthday, you picked an absolute doozy 😂😂 the climb was brutal and by that point my cork had absolutely had enough, it was so hot as well which made it even more difficult! Thanks mate I'm loving sharing a couple of yarns, I'm a Mulligans regular so hopefully we run into each other. We're so blessed with an awesome trail community here in Canberra!
Nice Read Brent bro... your writing taken me into this race. You had very good experience in the steep elevation, tough down hill and multiple river crossings.. Really it should be cherishable memories & experience for you. You are really one of my inspiring person.
This was beautiful to read Brent! Really got me in the feels! What an experience! Great effort and congratulations on finishing!
Thank you. Gonna be a good amount of recovery now I dare say!
Corks are shitty because they usually lack external bruising and it's like but it REALLY HURTS, giveme a good bruise dammit! haha
Yeah like the cuts and scratches from the scrub and bites from the flies at least showed something haha.

Thank you legend, hope to see you soon!
The Marchies are on the juice this year. They’re about an inch long around home.
They are nightmare fuel!!
Interesting! Amazing! Incredible. Well done mate! How do you do this I don't know.
I believe in you!!
