"We worked out of a little gym in Kaleen, it was nothing fancy at all" There is nothing fancy in Kaleen. Nothing.

Lucy is the best and anyone who hasn't watched The Doco of her running The Larapinta is a flog. Not only did she run Melbourne Mara in 4:30s, but she also hopped straight on her tredly and rode 40k home, haha. Freak!

She is amazing, that's probably ya classic ironman training method. Although I couldn't think of anything tougher 😂

Your welcome mate.

“I didn’t realise I wasn’t eating enough on training days. I was eating somewhere around 2,000 calories a day (on double run days), and wondering why I would binge eat on my rest days” - this is eerily similar to me during my rugby days and I think under fuelling is what’s causing people to binge eat, beat themselves up, and not enjoy their food. But why do they under fuel? Not sure. Education perhaps?

Think it's a little bit of everything education and people just being unaware. I genuinely thought 2,000 calories was a lot of food, but if I'm burning that in a long run of course I'm going to be starving.

Worst part is I used to have the mindset of I'd go off track and just stay there because I thought one day would ruin it all.

Knowing how much calories is in something helps as well, really allows me to go about my day without thinking too much.

I also use to think one bad day would wreck my progress. Why do you think people think like that? Perfectionism?

I think we've just had it drilled into us for a long time that certain foods are 'cheat meals' when we should just view everything as fuel. Some have higher fuel amounts than others, some release energy faster than others, this is the way we should be teaching food, not pizza = bad and you should feel shame. I think the toxic diet industry has so much to answer for, had so many steaks cooked on a George Foreman grill because we thought it would 'knock out the fat' like wtf haha.
